About The Position

Morrison Living is hiring a part-time Server at Hearthstone Lodge in Auburn, California. The Server takes food and beverage orders and delivers them efficiently to dining room guests. The position requires prior customer service experience. The schedule is part time, with days varying and hours from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; further details are provided during the interview. Pay is $17.00 to $18.00 per hour.

The role involves greeting guests, taking and delivering orders, providing menu and dietary information, coordinating with kitchen staff, handling tickets and cash, and keeping the dining room clean and properly set up. Servers are expected to provide courteous service, respond to guest concerns, maintain food safety and sanitation standards, and protect confidential personal or medical information. They may also support other departments during special events and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Prior customer service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Promptly and warmly greet dining room guests and take food and beverage orders efficiently, following established service steps.
• Deliver food promptly and professionally while following safe food handling and sanitation standards; follow up to address additional guest needs or requests.
• Understand menu items and ingredients, advise guests on food and drink combinations when requested, accommodate reasonable requests, and note preferences.
• Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
• Communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
• Communicate effectively and remain flexible and patient with guests and staff.
• Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
• Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
• Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared with the employee.
• Promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information or complaints to the supervisor.
• Set up the dining room before and after service and keep the area clean and neat in accordance with sanitation standards.
• Operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea and soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
• Work with staff from other departments during special events and functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
