Server - Big City Wings - Kuykendahl
About The Position
Big City Wings is hiring servers for its Kuykendahl location. Servers welcome and assist guests, answer questions about menu items and restaurant services, take and enter orders, deliver food and beverages, process payments, and monitor the guest experience. The role also includes shift side work, attending team meetings, completing server training, and helping fellow team members. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold Food Handler and TABC certifications. Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not required. The position involves extended periods of standing and walking in a hot, wet, humid, and loud environment. Physical tasks include moving tables and chairs, carrying trays, replenishing ice and beverages, cleaning restrooms, bussing tables, and occasionally lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Food Handler Certification required.
- TABC Certification required.
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information to customers and other team members.
- Ability to add and subtract two- and three-digit numbers and perform these operations using American currency.
- Ability to operate a computer point-of-sale system.
- Exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
- Ability to stand and walk constantly and typically remain standing for periods of up to 10 hours.
- Ability to occasionally stoop or kneel, push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds, and ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps.
- Ability to work for long periods in a hot, wet, humid, and loud environment.
- Ability to frequently flex or rotate the wrists and spine.
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, talk and exchange ideas verbally, and maintain clear vision at near and far distances.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet guests, make them feel comfortable, and let them know you will personally take care of them.
- Answer guest questions about food, beverages, and other restaurant services.
- Take food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
- Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner.
- Prepare and present guest bills, accept payment, process credit card charges, and make change.
- Perform required side work at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Monitor guests’ dining experiences, respond promptly and courteously to requests, and communicate feedback to managers.
- Assist fellow servers as needed.
- Complete server training to develop a strong working knowledge of the menu.
- Attend scheduled team member meetings.
- Move tables, chairs, and highchairs to accommodate guests.
- Carry trays from the kitchen window to the front counter, dining room, or parking lot as needed.
- Refill ice bins and beverages, clean restrooms, bus tables, and perform other restaurant functions as needed.
