About The Position
The Server welcomes residents and helps create a friendly, engaging dining environment. The role includes greeting residents, being present and social in the dining room, and helping residents connect with one another. Servers prepare for meal service by setting tables, preparing salads, and rolling silverware; bus tables and sweep floors; and notify supervisors and Wellness staff about poor dietary habits, unusual changes in appetite, or residents who are absent from meals. This is a full-time position at Vitalia N Olmsted in North Olmsted, Ohio. The listed schedule is Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Pay is $15–$23.25 per hour.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th-grade proficiency.
- Must have a positive, energetic attitude and love working with residents.
- Must be active and able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, and assist persons after a fall.
- Must be criminally cleared.
Responsibilities
- Greet residents and help them feel welcome.
- Be present in the dining room, mingle with residents, entertain, and foster an environment where residents can connect.
- Prepare for meal service by setting tables, preparing salads, and rolling silverware.
- Bus tables and sweep floors to keep the community tidy.
- Communicate with supervisors and Wellness staff when poor dietary habits or unusual changes in appetite are observed, or when residents are absent from meals.
- Assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, and assist persons after a fall.
