About The Position

Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown is seeking a friendly, attentive Server who takes pride in delivering excellent service and creating memorable dining experiences. The role involves welcoming and assisting guests, taking and serving orders, processing payments, maintaining dining and service areas, and coordinating with other team members. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and effective in a busy dining environment.

Requirements

Strong guest service and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tables while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Professional appearance and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to perform essential duties, including prolonged standing, walking, and carrying trays, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to meet applicable requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.

Nice To Haves

Previous restaurant or hotel serving experience.
Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and payment processing.

Responsibilities

Welcome guests, present menus, and provide friendly, knowledgeable service.
Explain menu items, answer questions, and offer food and beverage recommendations.
Enter orders accurately into the point-of-sale system and communicate special requests to the kitchen.
Follow established procedures for food allergies and dietary restrictions.
Serve food and beverages promptly and check back to ensure guest satisfaction.
Monitor assigned tables, anticipate guest needs, and respond professionally to requests.
Process payments accurately and follow cash-handling procedures.
Set, clear, and reset tables and maintain clean, organized service areas.
Complete opening, closing, and side-work assignments.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service procedures.
Coordinate with kitchen staff, hosts, bartenders, and fellow servers to deliver smooth service.
