About The Position

The Server provides quality customer service by demonstrating excellent knowledge of menu items and serving food and beverages in a punctual, courteous, efficient, and accurate manner. The role advocates for the restaurant, creates personalized guest experiences, and builds relationships that encourage guests to return. Servers support the team in keeping work areas clean, dry, and safe; welcome and assist guests; take and enter orders; serve meal accompaniments; and maintain knowledge of food, wine, beverages, and restaurant operations. They help ensure guests have an enjoyable experience, communicate complaints to management, complete sidework, provide wine service, and set up and break down service stations. The role also assists with table setup and bussing, to-go orders, seating, and phone calls as needed. Servers attend required trainings and meetings, maintain communication with support staff and management, and may take on responsibilities beyond those listed.

Requirements

Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Able to learn, retain, and present product, menu, and allergy information to guests.
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, the restaurant POS system.
Able to calculate accurate bill amounts and handle credit cards and money properly.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Passion for crafting and personalizing guest experiences.
Highly motivated and flexible, with the ability to take initiative.
Flexible schedule and ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Certifications, if applicable.

One year of experience in a similar or supportive role is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support the team and help keep all areas clean, dry, and safe for coworkers.
Greet and welcome guests and promptly attend to tables.
Receive guest orders and enter them quickly and accurately in the POS system.
Prepare and serve meal accompaniments.
Learn and maintain knowledge of food, wine, and beverage menus, as well as general restaurant information.
Help ensure guests have an enjoyable and memorable experience and relay complaints to management.
Perform sidework.
Open bottled wine for guests and provide wine service.
Set up and break down stations such as deli, dessert, coffee, and espresso.
Assist with setting and bussing tables, taking to-go orders, seating guests, and answering phones as needed.
Attend company- and restaurant-required trainings and meetings.
Maintain ongoing communication with support staff and management.
Take on responsibilities outside the job description as needed.
