About The Position

The Flex Operator is a part-time role in Land O’Lakes, Inc.’s Flex Manufacturing Program, with flexible hours and a schedule employees can choose. Typical weekly hours are usually 16–29, though they may vary by location. As a member of the manufacturing team, the operator performs front-line production processes, operates machinery and equipment, and packages finished products. The role provides experience transforming raw materials into products for customers. It is part of Purina Animal Nutrition, which serves producers and animal owners throughout the United States.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older.
At least 6 months of work experience in any industry.
Basic computer and math skills.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions.
Willingness to learn new skills, problem-solve, and troubleshoot.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, and respectful conduct.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to perform frequent active movements, including walking, standing, bending or stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, and climbing.
Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment.
Ability to work for extended periods in cold and/or hot temperature zones, potentially in areas where dust and chemicals are present.
Availability to work the scheduled shift, which may include weekends, some holidays, and periodic overtime.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of manufacturing work experience.
Machine operation and/or forklift experience.
