About The Position

The Flex Operator is a part-time position in Land O’Lakes, Inc.’s Flex Manufacturing Program. The employee performs front-line production processes that add value and quality to manufacturing inputs and create finished products. The work includes operating machinery and equipment and packaging final products. Typical working hours are usually 16–29 hours per week, with a flexible schedule the employee can choose; hours may vary by location.

The role is part of Purina Animal Nutrition, which serves producers and animal owners throughout the United States with nutritional products and practices designed to support animal health and productivity.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least 6 months of work experience in any industry.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to learn new skills, solve problems, and troubleshoot.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, and respectful conduct.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform frequent active movements, including walking, standing, bending or stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, and climbing.
• Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment.
• Ability to work for extended periods in cold and/or hot temperature zones, potentially in areas where dust and chemicals are present.
• Availability to work the scheduled shift, which may include weekends, some holidays, and periodic overtime.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of manufacturing work experience.
• Machine operation and/or forklift experience.
