About The Position

Sally's Apizza is hiring a Server in New Haven. Servers work directly with guests to provide an excellent dining experience and outstanding hospitality. They help guests select menu items by explaining new offerings, portions, ingredients, and potential food allergies, and follow Sally’s Steps of Service. The role also includes taking and serving food and drink orders, processing payments, and helping maintain a clean and organized dining area and workplace. Sally's offers coaching, training, and opportunities for internal promotion.

Requirements

Strong customer service skills.
Knowledge of the menu.
Knowledge of POS systems.
Ability to communicate basic food preparation information.
Attention to detail and a thorough approach to work.
Ability to handle cash accurately and process credit cards.
Organizational awareness, including understanding internal systems, procedures, and culture and recognizing the implications of decisions.
Effective oral communication skills.
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs., and perform constant reaching, turning, and twisting.

Nice To Haves

Basic Spanish is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and guide them through the dining experience according to Sally’s Steps of Service.
Provide outstanding hospitality and service to guests.
Present menus and explain portions, ingredients, and potential food allergies.
Suggest menu items and inform guests about new offerings.
Accurately take food and drink orders using POS ordering software.
Serve food and drinks.
Check in with guests regularly and provide additional items as needed.
Process cash and credit card payments accurately and efficiently.
Comply with food and beverage regulations, including verifying customers’ identification and age when required.
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized dining area, including setting and resetting tables.
Help maintain a clean and sanitary workplace.
Complete assigned side work in a timely manner.
