Server Assistant-Fine Dining
About The Position
The Server Assistant-Fine Dining position requires a detail-oriented individual familiar with current sanitation procedures, with excellent communication skills and the ability to anticipate guests’ needs and work closely with co-workers. The role supports dining service by understanding menu items, following service standards, completing assigned side work, responding to guest needs, assisting the bartender with stocking and cleaning, and maintaining and inventorying equipment. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. The physical demands include standing, walking, handling items, communicating, reaching, and lifting weights that can occasionally exceed 100 pounds. The work environment is usually quiet, with occasional exposure to electrical-shock risk.
Requirements
- Six months of restaurant experience in bussing, serving, and/or bartending.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and apply basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions using common-sense understanding and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities
- Have a complete understanding of menu items.
- Follow sequence-of-service standards.
- Perform assigned side work duties.
- Converse with guests and address their needs as required.
- Work with the bartender on stocking and cleaning bar areas as required.
- Maintain and inventory equipment monthly to ensure adequate counts for service.
