About The Position

The Server Assistant works under general supervision to maintain a smooth workflow between the kitchen and tables, partnering with Servers to make service faster and better and to support the Adobe Clubhouse’s food and beverage quality and reputation. The role is based at the Adobe Clubhouse at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club in Phoenix, Arizona, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and hosts banquets and events. Team members are expected to cultivate a positive work environment, use work time efficiently, communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and guests, remain flexible, maintain integrity, arrive on time prepared to work, and follow internal procedures and external regulations. The position may also assist with banquet and event setup and service. It requires regular attendance and may involve additional hours, weekends, and holidays according to business needs.

Requirements

Pursuing a high school diploma or GED.
Previous restaurant experience is desired.
Outstanding coordination and multitasking abilities.
Strong interpersonal skills, including being friendly, approachable, and attentive.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Ability to collaborate with kitchen staff, Servers, and other restaurant staff.
Strong communication skills, including effective listening.
Ability to stay organized while managing multiple tables.
Flexibility and adaptability to changes in workflow, menu items, and staffing.
Ability to remain calm during peak hours and when dealing with challenging guests or members.
Demonstrated working knowledge of food-handling regulations.
Ability to use the employee self-service function in the company’s human resources/payroll database.
A valid driver’s license is required only if assigned to use golf carts.
Unexpired Arizona food and liquor certifications; individuals under 19 do not need liquor certification and will not serve alcohol.
Must meet age requirements to handle and serve alcoholic beverages.
Regular attendance is required; additional hours, including weekends, may be required regularly.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands in a fast-paced environment and seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.
Ability to talk and hear; stand and walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently lift and/or move 25 to 50 pounds.
Close vision, ability to adjust focus, and manual dexterity with eye-hand coordination.
Ability to hear information conveyed to guests and members and work effectively in areas with ambient noise.
Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions and work amid interruptions, unpredictable situations, and time pressures.

Responsibilities

Set up tables with appropriate utensils, napkins, condiments, and other items before guests are seated.
Provide friendly, attentive service; answer guest questions and inform the Server or management of guest concerns.
Assist assigned tables during meal service by removing used dishes and refilling water.
Clear used dishes, glasses, and utensils after guests finish their meals.
Sweep under tables and in general restaurant areas, and wipe down tables and chairs to maintain cleanliness and presentation standards.
Restock napkins, condiments, and other items as needed throughout the shift.
Assist Servers by bringing additional items and helping deliver food, especially for large parties and during peak periods.
As scheduled, assist with banquet table setup, food service, and other event-related tasks.
Participate in pre-shift meetings, taste tests, and training.
Follow safety standards, use appropriate safety equipment, and maintain good personal hygiene.
Perform other assigned duties.
