About The Position

The Server Assistant (Runner) helps create an excellent guest experience by delivering meals to tables accurately and promptly. The role supports first-class service in a restaurant environment, welcomes and assists guests, coordinates food delivery, refills drinks, and helps servers, bartenders, and the expediter. Team members are expected to provide courteous, friendly, efficient service; uphold the company’s TRIFIC values of Trust, Respect, Integrity, First-Class, Innovation, and Commitment; and help maintain a safe, respectful work environment free of harassment. The position may include additional duties as assigned, and job requirements may change during employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to take direction and collaborate in a team environment.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, demanding environment.
• Knowledge of mathematics and cashier experience.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and with team members.
• Ability to work unsupervised for extended periods and exercise good judgment when dealing with customers and peers.
• Ability to work various shifts in a team-oriented 7/365 environment.
• Excellent customer-service skills and ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Strong self-motivation, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics in English.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and perform essential job functions including standing, bending, reaching, gripping, climbing a ladder, and walking long distances.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in environments with varying temperatures.

Nice To Haves

• Retail, hospitality, or food-and-beverage experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Welcome guests with a warm, friendly greeting and assist with orders by explaining menu items and drinks and making recommendations as appropriate.
• Coordinate food orders to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient delivery to tables.
• Periodically refill guests’ water and drinks and respond promptly to guest inquiries.
• Assist the expediter, servers, and bartenders as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and complete assigned side work, which may include sweeping and mopping.
• Support other restaurant areas as requested, including seating customers, answering telephones, stocking, cleanup, and documentation.
• Support management decisions once made and comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including food-safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
