About The Position

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position within the DPW – Water Division, open only to current members of the Town of Bridgewater AFSCME union. The Senior Water Handler will operate and repair chemical pumps and motors, handle water treatment chemicals safely, and perform maintenance both inside and outside of all Water Plants and Pump Houses. The role also involves keeping all Water Treatment Plants, Pump Houses, and Water Towers clean, and working harmoniously with other Water Department personnel. The position reports directly to the Water Superintendent, or the Chief Plant Operator in the Superintendent's absence. The Senior Water Handler must be able to perform all duties outlined in the Water Handler job description.

Requirements

• Must hold a certificate required by the Massachusetts Division of Registration for Drinking Water Facilities: Currently Grade 2T.
• Must be able to operate and repair chemical pumps and motors of all kinds.
• Must handle water treatment chemicals at all times in a safe manner.
• Must perform maintenance inside and out of all Water Plants and Pump Houses.
• Must keep all Water Treatment Plants, Pump Houses and Water Towers clean inside and out.
• Must be able to work harmoniously with all Water Department Personnel.
• Must be able to perform all duties in the job description of the Water Handler.
