About The Position

BNY is seeking a Senior Vice President to join its Legal team in Boston, Massachusetts. The position leads multiple teams of Regulatory Administration and Filings staff, providing clients with legal guidance on SEC filings, including prospectuses, proxy statements, and board minutes. The role monitors regulatory developments, advises clients on legislative issues that arise during board meetings and regulatory decisions, and oversees relationships with clients’ accounting firms while liaising with in-house counsel to support compliant major filings. The position requires working in the office four days per week.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• 7–10 years of total work experience.
• Proven ability to recruit, direct, motivate, and develop staff and manage multiple teams and resources effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school preferred.
• 1–3 years of management experience preferred.
• Experience in the securities or financial services industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement strategies to monitor regulatory developments and respond accordingly.
• Act as a legal expert in client-facing situations.
• Provide oversight and strategic guidance on legislative issues clients must address during board meetings and regulatory decisions.
• Manage relationships with clients’ accounting firms.
• Liaise with in-house counsel to ensure major filings comply with regulations.
• Recruit, direct, motivate, and develop staff, and manage multiple teams and resources effectively.
