Senior Travel Consultant
About The Position
As a Senior Travel Consultant, you are the face of BCD Travel and communicate with current and prospective clients, helping them travel smart and achieve more. You search for and confirm travel reservations, advise customers on client travel policies, and provide information about travel regulations and industry costs. You also identify opportunities to improve operational processes and client commercial relationships, while maintaining and expanding your knowledge of the travel industries supported. This is a full-time remote position in the United States. The listed schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. CST, but assignments may include day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts based on business needs. The salary range in applicable U.S. jurisdictions is $48,000–$68,000. Actual pay depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a travel agent.
- Advanced skills in GDS Sabre.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Working knowledge of the travel industry, policies, procedures, and processes.
Responsibilities
- Search for and confirm travel reservations for customers.
- Understand client travel policies and consistently provide consultation to customers.
- Fulfill requests regarding applicable regulations, including DOT, TSA, passports, and visas.
- Provide clients with relevant industry information, such as low fares, exchange costs, and penalties.
- Identify opportunities to review operational processes and commercial relationships with clients and suggest improvements.
- Maintain, communicate, and expand knowledge of the state of the various travel industries supported.
