About The Position

The Senior Technician works on Corewell Health’s Nutrition Services team at Butterworth Hospital. The role supports efficient, high-quality meal service for patients, team members, and visitors, and helps keep department operations running smoothly. The Senior Technician upholds department policies and procedures, trains new hires on department standards and workflows, and is prepared to provide department-lead coverage as needed. The position involves addressing inquiries, supporting staffing adjustments, communicating and collaborating with team members and leadership, and completing additional duties assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Develop, communicate, and uphold organizational procedures and policies, and ensure staff are trained and comply with established standards.
• Deliver comprehensive training for Nutrition Services new hires on diet standards, food safety protocols, patient-focused service, and department workflows, including the Call Center, Trayline, Tray Delivery, Dish Room, and Nourishments.
• Be prepared to assist as department lead as needed, providing oversight and support for smooth daily operations.
• Answer inquiries from patients, team members, nursing staff, and visitors.
• Reallocate team members during staffing shortages.
• Professionally address team members and work effectively in a high-volume food service environment.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate with staff, peers, and leadership to promote transparency, teamwork, and operational efficiency.
• Share information proactively, support problem-solving, and contribute to a culture of trust, respect, and continuous improvement.
