About The Position

Walmart is hiring a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repair of refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets at Walmart facilities. The role uses commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete work. The technician uses the work order management system to receive and document repair work, responds promptly to emergency maintenance calls, and inspects, operates, or tests facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues. The technician must complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely and perform work in accordance with Walmart safety and environmental procedures and applicable OSHA and EPA regulations. The position requires frequent ladder use and working at heights, as well as lifting up to 75 pounds. The position is based at 474 Boston Post Road, North Windham, Connecticut. Walmart provides a work vehicle and tools. Individual compensation is based on candidate-specific factors; the posting states eligibility for a bonus incentive but does not provide a salary range.

Requirements

At least 10 years of experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration; alternatively, at least 8 years of this experience with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Large-scale rack refrigeration experience.
Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
Valid state-issued driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record report.
At least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, use ladders, and work frequently at heights.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a two-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Excellent driving record.
Prior work experience with glycol and CO2 systems.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and appropriate tools and equipment.
Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders supporting stores and associates and document repair activities.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
Perform work according to Walmart refrigeration and HVAC safety policies and environmental guidelines, complying with OSHA and EPA regulations.
