About The Position

Walmart is hiring a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repair of refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets in Walmart facilities. The technician uses commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete work. The role supports stores and store associates through a work order management system, responds to emergency maintenance calls, diagnoses equipment issues, and follows required safety and environmental procedures. The position requires compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety and environmental guidelines. The job involves lifting up to 75 pounds, climbing ladders, and frequently working at heights. A work vehicle and tools are provided.

Requirements

At least 18 years old and holds a high school diploma or equivalent.
Option 1: 3 years of experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration; or Option 2: 6 years of experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman qualification.
One year of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or 2 years of Walmart store experience.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions in the last 5 years; no more than two moving violations in the last 3 years; no preventable commercial motor vehicle accidents in the last 3 years; and no serious traffic violations while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last 3 years.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or a 2-year Associate of Applied Science program in air conditioning and refrigeration.
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Prior experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Prior experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Prior experience with glycol and CO2 systems.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets.
Use a work order management system to receive repair work orders and document repair activities.
Provide prompt responses to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
Perform work in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and Walmart safety policies and environmental guidelines.
