About The Position

Walmart is hiring a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repairs to refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets at Walmart facilities. The role uses commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, tools, and equipment to maintain facilities and respond to repair needs. The technician receives and documents work orders through a work order management system, responds promptly to emergency maintenance calls, inspects and tests equipment to diagnose issues, and completes required safety training. Work must comply with OSHA and EPA regulations and Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety and environmental guidelines. The position requires frequent lifting of up to 75 pounds, climbing ladders, and working at heights. Compensation packages are based on candidate-specific factors, and the position is eligible for bonus incentives. Walmart provides a work vehicle and tools.

Requirements

Meet one of the following experience pathways: 3 years of HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience; or 6 years of HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II, or Universal, EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
Hold an HVAC-R/mechanical journeyman qualification where required.
Have 1 year of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or 2 years of Walmart store experience.
Hold a valid state-issued driver's license and be able to pass a motor vehicle report.
Have no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions on a commercial driving record within the last 5 years.
Have no more than two moving violations on a commercial driving record in the last 3 years.
Have no preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last 3 years.
Have no serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last 3 years.
Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be able to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or a 2-year Associate of Applied Science program in air conditioning and refrigeration.
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Prior work experience with glycol and CO2 systems.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, tools, and equipment.
Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders supporting stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
Perform work in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and the practices and procedures in Walmart's refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
