About The Position

Walmart is hiring a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repairs to refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets at Walmart facilities. The role uses commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, along with hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment. The technician receives and documents work orders, responds to emergency maintenance calls, inspects and tests facilities and equipment to diagnose issues, and completes required safety training. Work must comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety and environmental guidelines. The role requires lifting up to 75 pounds, using ladders, and frequently working at heights. A work vehicle and tools are provided. Compensation may include an incentive bonus and is based on candidate-specific factors.

Requirements

Meet one of the stated experience-and-education pathways: 3 years of HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience; or 6 years of HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience and an Associate of Applied Science in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
Hold an HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman credential where required.
Have 1 year of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or 2 years of Walmart store experience.
Hold a valid state-issued driver's license and be able to pass a motor vehicle report.
Have no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions on a commercial driving record within the last 5 years.
Have no more than two moving violations on a commercial driving record in the last 3 years.
Have no preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last 3 years.
Have no serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last 3 years.
Be able to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or a 2-year Associate of Applied Science program in air conditioning and refrigeration.
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Prior work experience with Glycol and CO2 systems.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets.
Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders supporting stores and associates, and document repair activities.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
Perform work in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety and environmental guidelines.
