About The Position

Walmart is hiring a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repairs to refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets at a local retail store. The technician uses commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete work. The role includes responding to repair work orders and emergency maintenance calls, diagnosing facility and equipment issues, and following safety and environmental procedures. A work vehicle and tools are provided.

Requirements

Meet one of the stated experience and education pathways: 3 years of HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience; or 6 years of HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience and an Associate of Applied Science in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Hold and maintain EPA Type I and Type II or Universal certification for refrigerant handling.
Hold an HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman qualification where required.
Have 1 year of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or 2 years of Walmart store experience.
Have a valid state-issued driver's license and be able to pass a motor vehicle report.
Have no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions on a commercial driving record within the last five years.
Have no more than two moving violations on a commercial driving record in the last three years.
Have no preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
Have no serious traffic violations, as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
Be able to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work frequently at heights.
Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or a 2-year Associate of Applied Science program in air conditioning and refrigeration.
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Prior experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Prior experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Prior experience with Glycol and CO2 systems.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets.
Use commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete repairs.
Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
Perform work in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety and environmental guidelines.
