Senior Technical Product Manager - Keet (100% Remote)

Tether Operations Limited
•Remote

About The Position

Tether is hiring a Senior Technical Product Manager to own the vision and execution of Keet, a peer-to-peer messaging and video calling app built on Holepunch’s P2P stack. Keet enables direct communication with end-to-end encryption and no servers, middlemen, or data harvesting. The role is responsible for defining a path to one billion users and competing with major messaging platforms. It combines product strategy, technical leadership, rapid prototyping, and hands-on delivery; it is not a maintenance or strategy-only position. The successful candidate will define and communicate product direction, develop growth plans, and work closely with engineering on the technical and product challenges of peer-to-peer communication. They will own the real-time calling experience, lead product planning and execution across teams, and oversee releases on mobile and desktop. They are expected to stay closely involved in tickets, dependencies, risks, and quality, and to use AI coding and design tools to prototype concepts quickly. The role is remote and involves collaboration across Tether and the Holepunch ecosystem. The company describes its environment as global, lean, fast-moving, and high-intensity, and says the role may require extended hours when the mission demands it.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of product management experience, including significant senior or lead experience owning a consumer product end to end.
  • A proven record of setting product vision and achieving measurable outcomes at scale, with tens of millions of users or more.
  • Experience leading engineers and running predictable sprint cadences across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong JavaScript and React skills, including the ability to read and write production code, review pull requests, and build working prototypes.
  • Ability to reason about distributed and local-first systems, including synchronization, offline behavior, and consistency trade-offs.
  • Hands-on experience shipping and scaling iOS and Android apps, including familiarity with App Store and Google Play processes and release management.
  • Experience with real-time voice and video calling products and their quality, latency, and reliability trade-offs.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to prototype and demonstrate product concepts rapidly.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including experience presenting vision and strategy to boards, executives, and investors.
  • Sound judgment in balancing urgency and importance and making fast, high-quality decisions with incomplete information.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-intensity, fast-moving environment, set a high bar, and work extended hours when required by the mission.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Nice To Haves

  • Product leadership experience at a major messaging app such as WhatsApp, Telegram, LINE, WeChat, Signal, Viber, or KakaoTalk.
  • Experience with peer-to-peer technologies, distributed systems, or decentralized protocols.
  • Exposure to Holepunch, Pear, or Hypercore.
  • Experience growing products in emerging markets or across multiple regions and languages.
  • Background in privacy, encryption, or security-focused products.
  • Familiarity with Electron, React Native, or similar cross-platform frameworks, installer systems, boot performance, and Linux packaging such as Snap, AppImage, or Flatpak.
  • Understanding of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, test automation, and performance testing.
  • An engineering background or computer science degree.
  • Experience with Git, issue trackers, and modern collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own and articulate Keet’s long-term product vision, including a clear path to one billion users.
  • Analyze competitors including WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, LINE, and WeChat, and build a roadmap around Keet’s peer-to-peer advantages.
  • Present product vision, strategy, metrics, and progress to the board and executive leadership.
  • Define a measurable growth strategy covering acquisition, activation, retention, and virality.
  • Develop a working understanding of the Holepunch P2P stack and translate its capabilities and constraints into product decisions.
  • Partner with core engineering on peer-to-peer challenges including NAT traversal, offline sync, multi-device support, large groups, push notifications, and mobile battery and data efficiency.
  • Own the 1:1 and group voice and video calling experience, including screen sharing, to a quality level comparable to or better than Google Meet and Zoom.
  • Define clear feature tiers and label stable versus experimental functionality.
  • Use AI coding and design tools to create working prototypes and demos that validate concepts quickly.
  • Lead the product team and manage the sprint cadence, including planning, prioritization, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Own deliverables from conception through release, testing, and post-launch iteration, ensuring core functionality works reliably.
  • Maintain issue trackers and roadmaps that accurately represent priorities and sprint commitments.
  • Coordinate across engineering, QA, design, marketing, and business stakeholders, managing dependencies across the Holepunch and Tether ecosystem.
  • Provide transparent updates on status, risks, and timeline changes, and address accountability directly when needed.
  • Own mobile release processes for iOS and Android, including store submissions, review guidelines, compliance, listings, ratings, and release management.
  • Oversee desktop distribution and installers for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
  • Build privacy-preserving crash reporting, debugging, and analytics systems that turn user reports into actionable engineering data.
