AI Technical Product Manager (QVAC) (100% remote)

Tether Operations Limited
•Remote

About The Position

QV.AC is a general-purpose AI assistant that runs locally on users’ devices, giving them greater control over their data and use of artificial intelligence. The product focuses on local, on-device, privacy-preserving AI, with opportunities to connect experiences across Tether’s peer-to-peer ecosystem. The Product Manager will work closely with the Product Lead to advance the QV.AC vision by identifying valuable use cases, defining AI features, exploring product concepts, and collaborating with engineering and design to bring products to users. The role contributes to product direction and owns assigned features from discovery through delivery and iteration. It is suited to someone who experiments with emerging AI technologies, understands their possibilities and limitations, and can make complex technology easy to use.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of product management experience, ideally working on AI software products with technical engineering teams.
  • Practical experience building, shipping, or prototyping AI-powered features, with the ability to explain personal contributions and lessons learned.
  • Working understanding of AI concepts such as inference, harnesses, model capabilities and limitations, context, and evaluation, along with an interest in local and on-device AI.
  • Ability to turn an ambiguous idea into a clear user problem, proposed solution, and actionable requirements.
  • Strong product judgment, with attention to usability, scope, and measurable user value.
  • Confidence creating prototypes using design or coding tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to discuss technical trade-offs with engineers and explain them to non-technical colleagues.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach, including taking responsibility, asking questions early, and incorporating feedback.
  • Familiarity with product analytics, user research, and iterative software development.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with local AI, on-device inference, or open-source models.
  • Experience building AI assistants, conversational interfaces, or multimodal features.
  • Familiarity with desktop or mobile product development.
  • Understanding of peer-to-peer technologies and decentralized applications.
  • Experience evaluating AI output quality and designing user experiences that account for uncertainty and errors.
  • Experience working in a distributed team.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Product Lead to translate the QV.AC vision into use cases, feature proposals, and product requirements grounded in user needs, research, and experimentation.
  • Gather user feedback, conduct research, and explore how people use AI in everyday workflows; identify meaningful problems AI can solve and when simpler solutions may be more appropriate.
  • Write product briefs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and user flows that communicate the intended experience, constraints, and success measures to engineering and design.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and working prototypes to test ideas and communicate product behavior, using AI-assisted tools to explore and refine concepts.
  • Work with engineers to assess technical feasibility across devices and models, including trade-offs involving response quality, latency, memory usage, battery consumption, and privacy.
  • Help the Product Lead evaluate opportunities, clarify scope, identify dependencies, and maintain a focused backlog aligned with product priorities.
  • Guide assigned features through development, resolve product questions, review the experience, and coordinate feedback and release readiness with relevant teams.
  • Explore new AI products, models, tools, and interaction patterns, and provide clear recommendations on what QV.AC should test or adopt and why.
