Junior Project Manager (Keet P2P) (100% remote)

Tether Operations Limited
•Remote

About The Position

The Keet engine team works on the core technology behind Keet, connecting peers, replicating data, syncing rooms, and keeping calls and file transfers fast and reliable across different networks. Tether is seeking an organized, curious Junior Project Manager to help coordinate this work. The role partners with a globally distributed team of senior engineers, turns priorities into clear plans, and helps ensure work is tracked through releases. It offers an opportunity for someone early in their career to develop toward technical project or product management in a technical, open-source environment. The position is fully remote and the team works asynchronously across time zones.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in project coordination, project management, or a similar role; internships and open-source involvement count.
  • Excellent written English communication skills, including the ability to explain technical progress clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Comfort working with engineers and learning technical concepts quickly.
  • Experience with issue trackers and project tools such as GitHub Issues/Projects, Jira, or Linear.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote, async-first team.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of networking or distributed systems concepts, such as P2P, DHTs, NAT traversal, and replication.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles, Git, and release processes.
  • Exposure to JavaScript/Node.js or experience working alongside a development team.
  • Interest in privacy, decentralization, or open-source software.
  • Agile/Scrum knowledge or a certification such as PSM or CAPM.
  • Experience working across many time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Track engine work across sprints and releases, keeping issues, milestones, and roadmaps current.
  • Run or support stand-ups, planning sessions, and retrospectives across time zones, mostly asynchronously.
  • Coordinate between the engine team, Keet app/UI developers, and QA so dependencies are visible early.
  • Write status updates, release notes, and meeting summaries.
  • Help triage bug reports and user feedback and route them to the appropriate engineers.
  • Spot risks and blockers early and help the team resolve them.
  • Keep internal documentation and processes tidy and easy to follow.
