About The Position

Liberty Mutual is hiring a senior individual contributor for its Commercial Casualty and Environmental Liability claims team. The role manages complex, high-severity claims from first notice of loss through resolution, with authority to determine coverage, set reserves, direct litigation, negotiate settlements, and make payments. As a subject matter expert, the specialist will apply judgment to complex and emerging environmental exposures, influence claim outcomes, and advise colleagues and leadership. The position offers meaningful settlement authority and autonomy, complex work with access to Legal, Underwriting, and Reinsurance, opportunities to mentor colleagues and develop toward subject matter expert or leadership roles, support for continuing education and designations, and flexible work arrangements. Liberty Mutual follows a hybrid arrangement: team members within 50 miles of a hub office are expected to work in the office approximately twice per month. Highly qualified remote candidates outside those areas may also be considered.
