About The Position

The Senior Technical Analyst connects business needs to technical delivery within NISA’s Technology Solutions group. The role defines requirements, improves quality through testing and root cause analysis, supports build and release pipelines, and helps the development team prioritize work. The analyst partners with business analysts, developers, product owners, scrum masters, and business users; works independently with minimal guidance; and applies tools such as large language models (LLMs) and agentic workflows to improve team practices.

The position supports Technology Solutions projects across workstreams and enterprise initiatives. It also involves database updates and query construction, troubleshooting with Software Engineering and Application Support, administration of in-house and third-party applications, production deployment coordination, and collaboration with business stakeholders to align solutions with business needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, or a related field, or relevant work experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical ability and structured problem-solving skills, including the ability to distinguish root cause from symptom.
• General knowledge of or experience with databases and SQL syntax, ETL processes, and business applications.
• Proficiency in documenting technical work in a repeatable, version-controlled way.
• General knowledge of and experience working with LLMs such as Copilot and Claude.
• Curiosity and initiative to source work independently and in alignment with team needs.
• Desire and ability to contribute to or establish quality processes and practices.
• Familiarity with Terraform, updating YAML, and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• General familiarity with C#, TypeScript, and Java when navigating repository code.
• Ability to script updates using Python, SQL, or VBA.

Nice To Haves

• Three to five years of systems analysis experience preferred.
• Pragmatic application of Kanban practices.
• Exposure to automated testing frameworks.
• Exposure to process improvement methods such as Lean or DMAIC.
• Working knowledge of financial instruments.

Responsibilities

• Independently define and refine detailed technical requirements with business analysts, other Technical Analysts, developers, and product owners.
• Perform root cause analysis on data quality issues, delivery delays, and recurring defects, and propose durable prevention measures.
• Use LLMs and agentic workflows, with an understanding of why different models are used.
• Collaborate with business and technical partners to develop test plans and coordinate user acceptance testing with business users.
• Create or contribute to automated unit and functional testing, maintain regression coverage, and integrate tests into build pipelines.
• Support IT partners in creating and maintaining build and release pipelines and handling environment requests.
• Coordinate and communicate production deployments as needed.
• Support Technology Solutions projects across workstreams and enterprise-wide initiatives.
• Assist with database updates and query construction.
• Assist Software Engineering and Application Support teams in troubleshooting and resolving issues.
• Provide administrative support for in-house and third-party applications.
• Work with product owners and the scrum master to prioritize work items, maintain backlog hygiene, and establish a clear definition of done for developers.
• Visualize work in progress, track flow, and escalate blockers so priorities can be adjusted with full information.
• Contribute to workstream roadmap planning and identify process improvement opportunities.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand processes and products and ensure alignment between business needs and solution outcomes.
