About The Position

Chapter 2 is a rapidly growing embedded talent business that partners with high-growth startups and scale-ups. They act as an extension of their clients' internal teams, building hiring infrastructure and delivering results. Their commercial growth is driven by outbound sales and events. This specific role is for a publicly traded, high-velocity technology business in Chicago that is looking to build a modern, AI-native sales hiring engine from the ground up. The ideal candidate is a scrappy, high-agency operator who uses AI to enhance their output and wants to architect a new system.

Requirements

  • Scrappy operator with experience building a hiring function from scratch.
  • High IQ and high agency, with the ability to think from first principles.
  • Genuinely AI-native, already using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or similar for workflow automation.
  • Strong sales recruiting track record, including AE, SDR leadership, and GTM hires at growth-stage or publicly traded tech companies.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and writing the playbook.
  • Chicago-based or willing to be on-site three days a week.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end sales hiring across the Chicago organization and broader US footprint.
  • Designing and automating sourcing, screening, and pipeline workflows using Claude Code and adjacent AI tooling.
  • Funnel analytics — diagnosing conversion issues and resolving them with process or technology.
  • Hiring manager partnership, including scorecards, calibration, structured interviewing, and offer strategy.
  • Ensuring a candidate experience that reflects the caliber of the business.
