About The Position

The Senior Systems Engineer executes control-function partitioning and interface designs to meet electrical systems and subsystem performance and functional requirements. The role interacts across vehicle electrical controls domains, including propulsion (internal combustion engines and electrical machines), high-voltage battery systems, active safety, autonomous driving, body electronics, infotainment, telematics, and chassis controls. The engineer creates system design readiness documents that translate requirements into system components and determine their deployment to ECUs to achieve electrical system functionality. The position includes system design readiness modeling within functional subsystem and diagnostic requirements analysis; defining the serial-data impact of signals transmitted and received over CAN, LIN, and Ethernet networks; and high-level partitioning of infrastructure standard utility models, including internal ECU software application security and safety interfaces. The engineer documents system designs using IBM Rational Rhapsody, defines network signals, and deploys structured components in applicable electronics module models. The role also participates in weekly Requirements Architecture Development (RAD) and Global Sub System Leadership Team (GSSLT) meetings, tracks change requests and stakeholder approvals, supports stakeholders under configuration-management rules (RTC CRs), and reviews modeling to ensure fidelity to the system design agreed upon by stakeholders. The position follows a hybrid work policy of three days in the office and two days remote. The employee must be able to report to a local office.
