Senior Store Sales Manager
About The Position
The Senior Store Manager leads Mattress Firm’s vision and company initiatives while achieving sales performance goals across multiple store units. This role holds associates accountable for in-store merchandising execution, leads selling programs, drives KPI results, and supports the omni-channel experience. The Senior Store Manager ensures teams put customers at the center of their work and create a compelling, engaging environment for both customers and team members. The position also includes sales and KPI leadership, employee training and coaching, workforce management, staffing support, store-level financial performance, merchandising and marketing execution, policy compliance, and collaboration with field employees and marketing. The role requires lifting or moving more than 50 pounds.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Drive individual and team sales performance and KPIs.
- Train and coach store employees in sales, product knowledge, and operating activities; provide constructive feedback, conduct annual performance reviews, and develop Individual Development Plans.
- Create an environment where customers are at the center and receive an exceptional experience.
- Communicate professionally and regularly with field employees, including Distribution Center employees, the District Manager, and Regional VP, to address immediate concerns and questions.
- Assist with multi-store staffing, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates.
- Develop skills, competencies, and product knowledge through assigned coursework, training, and other company-led activities.
- Conduct workforce management activities, including store staffing schedules and reconciling punches, using Operations team support and tools.
- Achieve or exceed individual store financial targets through effective execution and customer service.
- Ensure store execution of product merchandising, marketing, and point-of-purchase standards.
- Ensure company policies, appearance and functionality standards, and state regulations are followed.
- Partner with marketing to plan, implement, and monitor the assigned store’s social media strategy to positively impact brand awareness and increase sales.
