About The Position

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for performing and overseeing complex accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally. The Senior Staff Accountant will also support audits and process improvements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
Proficiency with ERP systems (preferably Syteline) and advanced Excel skills.
Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Public accounting experience.

Nice To Haves

CPA or CPA-eligible preferred.
Experience in manufacturing industry preferred.
Exposure to cost accounting.
Experience supporting system implementations or process automation.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Lead or significantly support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger in accordance with GAAP.
Analyze financial data, investigate variances, and provide clear explanations to management.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations and Payroll.
Perform additional job duties as assigned.
