About The Position
The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for completing the monthly closing process for divisional and corporate entities. This role involves reviewing and preparing journal entries, analyzing and publishing financial statements, and ensuring the integrity of accounting information. The position also requires supporting ERP software for locations nationwide and participating in continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent years of related experience, required.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, required.
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel.
- Willingness and ability to train operational partners in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, required.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Thorough knowledge of general accounting principles and best practices.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level.
- Mathematic competence.
- Self-starter with strong initiative and the ability to work independently.
Nice To Haves
- Accounting experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment, strongly preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Ax, a plus.
Responsibilities
- Complete monthly closing process for divisional and corporate entities.
- Review and prepare journal entries.
- Analyze and publish financial statements.
- Prepare financial information monthly/quarterly/annually using approved company financial reporting tools.
- Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering journal entries.
- Assist in month-end close processes and reconciliations.
- Prepare interim and year-end audit work papers.
- Analyze general ledger accounts and interpret data utilizing spreadsheets.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules for internal GAAP books and tax for multiple legal entities.
- Provide ERP software support for locations nationwide.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts supporting various business segments.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
