Requirements

  • 5+ years of financial management and accounting experience, preferably within construction, project accounting, cost accounting, or similar environments
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, and general ledger management.
  • Experience using financial management systems such as Sage Intacct, Oracle, or similar accounting platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Trusted to handle confidential financial information with professionalism, accountability, and discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification is a plus, but not required.
  • Tax preparation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of general ledger activity, reconciliations, and account accuracy across multiple entities.
  • Lead the month-end close process by preparing and reviewing workpapers and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Partner with the Controller to prepare financial statements and provide meaningful financial insight to leadership.
  • Review the work of Staff Accountants, answer questions, and help develop a strong accounting team.
  • Support project accounting activities, including project setup, cost coding, and financial tracking within the accounting system.
  • Serve as a go-to resource for accounting questions related to invoices, cash receipts, journal entries, budgets, and financial reporting.
  • Assist with year-end close activities and other projects that support the company's financial health and continued growth.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, streamline workflows, and make financial information more accessible across the organization.
