About The Position

We're looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team and play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our growing manufacturing and distribution business. This is a hands-on accounting position that requires strong analytical skills, inventory accounting expertise, and experience working in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a proactive accounting professional with at least five years of experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys improving processes, and is comfortable working cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong experience with inventory accounting is required.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
  • Experience with ERP systems is required.
  • Experience preparing tax filings and supporting month-end close.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Nice To Haves

  • ERP implementation experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience with Concur is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations and analyze financial results for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis.
  • Support inventory accounting, including reconciliations, inventory valuation, and related general ledger activity.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure accurate inventory reporting and cost accounting processes.
  • Assist with inventory audits and cycle count reconciliations.
  • Apply accounting principles within a manufacturing environment to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and other balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Manage corporate credit card reconciliations and related disbursements.
  • Process miscellaneous accounts payable transactions and journal entries as needed.
  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and supporting schedules.
  • Manage 401(k) reporting and commission payment schedules.
  • Prepare beverage tax returns and other required local and state filings.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and analysis.
  • Participate in accounting process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with ERP system enhancements or implementation projects as needed.
  • Support ad hoc financial analyses and special projects.
