Senior Solutions Engineer
About The Position
The Senior Solutions Engineer will support Akamai’s Public Sector Pre-Sales team, working with government and regulated-industry customers to align Akamai solutions with business needs. The role covers Akamai technologies across its global platform and partners with engineering and business teams to provide technical expertise and develop solutions for customers. The engineer will build customer relationships, contribute to sales opportunities, manage technical proposals, and lead technical demonstrations and proofs of concept. The work focuses on delivering solutions that help organizations improve internet performance and security.
Requirements
- Eight years of experience and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- U.S. citizenship, due to the nature of the client base.
- Experience in a customer-facing consulting, technical solutions pre-sales, or post-sales role.
- Background and experience in web acceleration, web security, infrastructure security technologies, or cloud computing solutions.
- Comprehensive understanding of the internet, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, HTML, SSL protocols, and cloud computing.
- Customer advocacy and passion for delivering technical solutions.
- Experience presenting technical topics to diverse audiences.
- Ability to collaborate, prioritize, and solve problems in a fast-changing environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the pre-sales technical process and demonstrate Akamai technology to customers to create sales opportunities.
- Manage the technical proposal process and ensure technical information and recommendations accurately address customer requirements.
- Track account activity for business analysis and reporting.
- Design technical solutions to meet customer needs.
- Lead sales activities, including technical demonstrations and proofs of concept (POCs).
