About The Position

Infotech is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to deliver and maintain scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions while providing technical assistance and excellent customer service. As part of the Hosting and Technical Services team, this role provides hands-on support for software implementations, including installations, upgrades, configurations, and data migrations, for customers and internal development, testing, and support environments. The engineer also builds and maintains Windows-based cloud environments on Amazon Web Services, bridging customer-installed software and software as a service. The role involves deploying AASHTOWare products and services on AWS, maintaining their availability, reliability, performance, security, and cost efficiency, and contributing to migration work from on-premises environments to AWS and from EC2 to containers. The engineer supports customers and internal teams, develops technical documentation and custom reports or interfaces, and delivers customer training. The position requires managing multiple concurrent tasks and may include occasional after-hours maintenance and on-call troubleshooting. The position is eligible for fully remote work within the United States, with a preference for candidates in Gainesville, Florida. Infotech does not currently employ individuals residing in Washington, D.C. This is a non-sponsorship-eligible position.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and at least 3 years of relevant experience involving technical troubleshooting and problem solving, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong Windows Server administration experience, including IIS and Active Directory management.
SQL experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.

Nice To Haves

PowerShell skills.
Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD.
Basic database administration knowledge.
In-depth SQL experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server, including complex queries and familiarity with views, synonyms, triggers, stored procedures, and database links.
Experience with cloud environments and configuration automation, particularly AWS.
Experience providing technical training.
Experience with Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting.

Responsibilities

Perform and assist with installations, upgrades, application configurations, and data migrations for AASHTOWare products and services.
Manage multiple concurrent tasks according to their importance and deadlines.
Participate in migrations from on-premises environments to AWS and from EC2 to containers.
Deploy AASHTOWare products with Infotech services on AWS and maintain environments for cost efficiency, availability, reliability, and performance.
Respond to alerts and resolve issues, including occasional after-hours maintenance and on-call troubleshooting.
Help ensure privacy and security across services and accounts, following applicable NIST 800-53 and GovRAMP controls.
Provide technical assistance to Infotech Development, Support, and QA departments.
Deliver technical training on AASHTOWare products to new and existing customers.
Create technical documentation for internal and external audiences.
Identify opportunities and share ideas to improve processes, services, and products.
Recommend and deliver technical solutions for customer and internal needs, including custom reports and interfaces.
