About The Position

Fiserv is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the development and support of its Vision NEXT platform, a cloud-native card issuing and payment processing platform built on microservices, APIs, and event-driven architecture. The role supports LATAM partners and involves application development, integrations, troubleshooting, and client implementations, using AWS services and real-time authorization capabilities.

This is a fully onsite role, Monday through Friday. The position requires U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent resident status. The role requires regular use of a computer, phone, and audio/video collaboration equipment, and involves collaboration across multiple technology disciplines. The salary range is $110,000 to $186,000 for employees in New Jersey and New York; ranges in other states may differ. Incentive-eligible associates may receive an annual incentive opportunity in cash bonus and/or equity awards at the company's discretion.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in software development, software engineering, or related technology disciplines.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Java.
• Hands-on experience with REST and event-driven integrations, including RabbitMQ and webhooks, and retry/idempotency design patterns.
• At least 2 years of experience developing or supporting applications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform environments.
• Experience working with APIs, microservices, and distributed application architectures.
• Experience troubleshooting application performance, connectivity, and integration issues in enterprise environments.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, professional experience, and/or military experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in financial services, payments, banking, or fintech.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN connectivity, firewalls, load balancing, and SSL/TLS.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures, event-driven systems, APIs, and real-time transaction processing platforms.
• Ability to write technical specifications that a development team can build from.
• Experience deploying and supporting containerized applications on Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift, including networking, scaling, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with firewalls, load balancers, proxies, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Experience supporting applications in AWS environments.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement software applications supporting Fiserv's Vision NEXT platform.
• Develop and support REST and event-driven integrations, including RabbitMQ and webhooks, using retry and idempotency design patterns.
• Develop and support integrations utilizing APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Build and maintain API test automation using RestAssured, Karate, and Postman/Newman.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, connectivity, and production support issues.
• Work with infrastructure, network, and security teams to ensure platform stability, performance, and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure compliance with coding standards, security requirements, and engineering best practices.
• Support cloud-native applications deployed in AWS environments.
• Monitor system performance and assist with root cause analysis of application- and network-related issues.
