Senior Software Engineer, Payments
About The Position
GoodLeap is seeking a highly skilled senior full-stack software engineer with deep payments-industry experience, particularly with Stripe. The engineer will help design, develop, and scale GoodLeap’s payments platform, working with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build reliable, secure, and high-performing payment solutions. The position offers ownership of key initiatives in a fast-paced, growing company. The work includes developing scalable microservices, APIs, and micro-frontends integrated with Stripe and other payment gateways; delivering secure, reliable, and compliant payment solutions; and contributing throughout the software development lifecycle, from concept and design through testing and deployment. The engineer will also mentor junior engineers, keep up with payments-industry developments, and troubleshoot issues to maintain system availability. GoodLeap is a technology company that provides financing and software for sustainable home solutions. Its platform has supported more than $30 billion in financing since 2018, and the company supports the nonprofit GivePower, which builds water and clean-electricity systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-stack software development experience using NodeJS, TypeScript, NestJS, React, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Experience working with Stripe’s API and other payment processing platforms.
- Ability to design systems that are secure, scalable, and resilient to failure.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Passion for clean code, continuous improvement, and software engineering best practices.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in FinTech or other highly regulated industries.
- Previous work with real-time payment processing systems.
Responsibilities
