About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer will join Narmi’s Platform Engineering team, which protects the integrity of account and transaction data and builds and maintains software connecting Narmi’s products to core banking systems. The team brings complex banking systems together through simple, developer-friendly APIs so that basic banking operations are reliable and performant. Platform engineers may work on real-time transaction alerts, improve the reliability of transfers over unreliable network links, or investigate how payments are settled against financial institution ledgers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience focused on backend development.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Hard-working, agile, and a top performer.
• Located in or willing to work in New York City.
• United States citizen or authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• 7 or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more of Python (especially Django or DRF), Terraform, Ansible, or Linux administration.
• Experience at a startup or financial technology firm.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain code connecting Narmi’s software to core banking systems.
• Help unify complex banking systems through developer-friendly APIs.
• Support reliable and performant basic banking operations.
• Potentially implement real-time transaction alerts, improve transfer reliability over unreliable network links, and investigate payment settlement against financial institution ledgers.
