Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack
About The Position
Google software engineers develop next-generation technologies used by billions of people to connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. The work spans products beyond web search and may draw on fields such as information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile technology. The engineer will work on a project critical to Google's needs, with opportunities to move between teams and projects as the business evolves. The role calls for versatility, leadership qualities, and enthusiasm for taking on full-stack problems. The engineer will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, and design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in object-oriented programming in Java, C++, or Python.
- 5 years of experience programming in JavaScript or TypeScript.
- 5 years of experience with front-end frameworks, full-stack development, or API development.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
- 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
Responsibilities
- Write and test product or system development code.
- Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide among available technologies.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices, including style guidelines, code checking, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt it based on product or program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug, track, and resolve them by analyzing the sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
