About The Position

WellHive is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to architect, develop, and deploy robust solutions for its healthcare platform. After in-person identity proofing and brief onboarding, this is a remote role with significant autonomy and close collaboration with an agile Scrum team and cross-functional partners. The engineer will help establish and apply strong coding, testing, and design practices across frontend and backend development, producing scalable, maintainable software and incorporating AI coding tools into the workflow without compromising quality. The role also involves mentoring engineers and promoting continuous improvement in a complex healthcare technology environment. The technology ecosystem includes Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, and NGXS on the frontend; Go services running on Amazon Linux ECS/Fargate; PostgreSQL and Redshift for data persistence; Python and Glue for analytics pipelines; Pulumi for infrastructure as code; Jenkins for CI/CD; Git/GitHub for version control; and Jira for agile project management. The position includes occasional daytime on-call participation, approximately one weekday every three to four weeks, and occasional travel for customer or company meetings, approximately one to two times per year.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency with modern full-stack software development practices; the role primarily uses Go and TypeScript, while experience with other languages is welcome.
  • Strong knowledge of testing frameworks and automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Experience mapping multiple API results into understandable, maintainable design patterns.
  • Comfort using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code in regular development work.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, provide technical guidance, mentor junior engineers, and foster knowledge sharing.
  • Expertise in software engineering best practices and familiarity with Git/GitHub, code review, static analysis tools such as ESLint or SonarQube, and CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies such as Scrum and CI/CD principles.
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design patterns, testing paradigms, and debugging distributed systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Ability to complete in-person IAL3-compliant identity proofing and present the necessary identification documents.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for occasional customer or company meetings, approximately one to two times per year.
  • Ability to work remotely from within the continental United States in an Eastern or Central time zone, excluding New York.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
  • Familiarity with Go language paradigms, constructs, and idioms.
  • Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript/JavaScript and modern web application design patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Scrum team on program increment and sprint planning, providing technical insights and estimates.
  • Translate user stories and product requirements into defined technical designs and implementations.
  • Apply technical expertise and problem-solving skills to complex challenges in the healthcare domain.
  • Develop performant, maintainable code with comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end test coverage.
  • Provide technical leadership in design discussions, code reviews, and mentorship.
  • Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver healthcare solutions.
  • Mentor and support the technical growth of other engineers.
  • Improve development tools, processes, and architecture.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including occasional participation in a daytime on-call rotation.
