About The Position

Anakim Consulting Inc. is hiring a Senior level Software Engineer with experience applying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to support software and solutions development in an AWS enterprise cloud environment. Qualified candidates will have experience working as part of a collaborative cross-functional team across the full software development lifecycle in a DevOps environment. Experience supporting cloud-native architectures is preferred. Prior experience with image processing or satellite ground systems is highly desired.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship)
• Ability to obtain U.S. Government security access (Public Trust level)
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or related discipline
• Equivalent years of related experience or training may be considered in lieu of a degree
• 7+ years of professional experience in a software engineering role supporting distributed or cloud native architectures and/or CI/CD pipelines in an AWS enterprise technology environment
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments
• Demonstrated proficiency coding in Python, Java, C/C++, and Perl
• Experience developing and executing unit tests, integration tests, and system-level tests
• Experience creating and maintaining system documentation and test reporting
• Prior development interfacing with database systems and working with relational databases
• Demonstrated understanding of cloud computing concepts, services, and operating models
• Demonstrated experience working hand-on with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and containerization supporting DevOps environment
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and technologies such as AWS or Terraform
• Demonstrated proficiency with scripting in one or more languages such as Python, PowerShell or Bash to support automation tasks
• Experience with Change Management using Git or similar tools
• Ability to estimate timelines and workloads and estimate cost strategies to optimize implementation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to present technical information to technical and non-technical team members
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AWS Cloud Services such as S3, EC2, EKS, ECR, and Lambda is preferred
• Configuration Management experience using Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar tools is preferred
• Professional or Specialty AWS Certification is a plus
• Terraform Associate Certification is a plus
• Experience with Postgres is preferred
• Experience or strong understanding of Agile methodologies is preferred
• Understanding of geographical concepts and map projections is a plus
• Experience with remote sensing, signals processing, digital imaging, or geographical systems is a plus
• Development experience using modern software engineering practices such as Artifical Intelligence for software code generation and documentation is preferred

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a dynamic DevSecOps team designing, implementing, and maintaining software components for complex systems
• Lead and or significantly contribute to solutions development, working from established design artifacts
• Support solutions development across full lifecycle from planning stage, requirements refinement, task estimation, design reviews, and implementation
• Participate in test development, execution, review, documentation, and reporting for unit tests, integration tests, and system-level tests
• Conduct analysis and manage change requests according to established Configuration Management process
• Apply analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain system documentation and designes for softrware modules
• Serve as participant and/or facilitator for design and code technical reviews
• Other duties working across full SDLC, as assigned
