About The Position

Veeva Systems is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for a new AI-driven product platform serving life sciences companies in safety, regulatory, and clinical development. As a founding team member, you will help establish the codebase and engineering organization, contributing across engineering disciplines. The team will use AI to improve engineering productivity and build product capabilities that apply AI to important customer problems. The role offers the opportunity to help bring the platform to live customers and grow the team during its first year. You will own features from design and development through deployment, production support, and maintenance. You will contribute code daily with AI assistance, collaborate with Product Management and Development on technical decisions, and help define engineering practices. The role also includes reviewing code and mentoring engineers at different experience levels. Veeva is a public benefit corporation and a Work Anywhere company that supports working from home or in an office. Requirements

At least 5 years of software development experience, including production-level Python development.
Extensive experience developing high-scale enterprise SaaS cloud applications.
A proven track record of architecting and building high-volume products at scale.
Hands-on development experience with current open-source tools and technologies, including Python, Git, FastAPI, and Pydantic.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced startup environment; highly driven and flexible.
Proven ability to mentor engineers and elevate team performance.
High work ethic, integrity, and honesty.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Unrestricted right to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available at this time.

Responsibilities

Own feature implementation from design and development through deployment, production support, and maintenance.
Contribute code daily using AI assistance for productivity.
Collaborate with Product Management and Development on technical design and problem-solving.
Analyze complex problems and identify knowns and unknowns to reach robust solutions quickly.
Define, promote, and mentor engineers on engineering best practices and coding standards, including AI-assisted engineering approaches.
Provide comprehensive code reviews for engineers of all experience levels.
Mentor engineering talent through structured development.
