About the position
The job overview for this role is that commercetools is seeking an experienced SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) to join their Special Delivery team. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively communicating decisions and actions to the team, providing proactive assistance to team members, and acting as a source of knowledge and counsel for other engineers. They will also be expected to foster a culture of open communication and collaboration, lead technical decision-making processes, and diagnose and resolve issues within their domain. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in SRE, programming experience in Python, Java, or Go, mentoring experience, and familiarity with driving architectural discussions and initiatives.
Responsibilities
Requirements
- 5+ years of SRE experience
- 3+ years of experience programming in Python, Java, or Go
- 2+ years of experience mentoring and supporting team members
- Familiarity in driving architectural discussions and initiatives across teams
- Experience providing high-quality code reviews to peers and junior engineers
- Experience running production workloads in a major cloud provider (AWS or GCP)
- Experience using IaC tooling (Terraform or Kubernetes)
- Comfortable writing automation tooling in Golang
- Strong time management skills
- Written and spoken English communication skills
