The job overview for the Security Engineer role at Amperity is to be foundational in implementing tools, technologies, and processes to ensure the safety of customer data. Responsibilities
- Implement security tools and processes at all stages of the SDLC, focusing on automation, real-time feedback, and empowering individuals.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the security team, engineering, and Amperity as a whole.
- Build scalable solutions that can take a scrappy startup into the enterprise.
- Improve the efficiency of our security analysts by identifying opportunities for tools and automation.
- Leverage state-of-the-art security tools to analyze our modern and evolving product stack.
- Evangelize Amperity’s security culture using your passion and creativity to develop security champions throughout the company.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams from feature design through launch to influence secure design choices.
- Perform risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability identification.
- Contribute directly to the codebase.
- Have at least 3-5 years of experience in security engineering or DevSecOps.
- Have 2-3 years of practical programming experience in languages such as Python, Java, C#, GoLang, etc.
- Have a passion for building security automation and tools.
- Be excited about collaborating with others on large projects.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle and how security can be improved at every step.
- Be a self-starter with a Swiss Army Knife of technical skills that you are looking to expand.
- Have a creative and versatile approach to problem-solving with technology.
- Be comfortable tackling complex ambiguous problems and driving towards solutions.
- Have the ability to interact directly with internal customers to understand pain points and iterate on solutions.
- Have experience working in a fast-paced, swiftly-changing startup environment.
Requirements
- At least 3-5 years of experience in security engineering or DevSecOps
- 2-3 years of practical programming experience in languages such as Python, Java, C#, GoLang, etc.
- Passion for building security automation and tools.
- Excitement about collaborating with others on large projects
- Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle and how security can be improved at every step.
- Self-starter with a Swiss Army Knife of technical skills that you are looking to expand.
