An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Scientist I / II to join the Institute of Medicine (IOM) Drug Discovery and Development Sciences team at Altos Labs. We are seeking a very highly motivated, creative, and collaborative individual who is passionate and dedicated to employing their scientific knowledge to help restore cell health and resilience to reverse disease. This position is ideal for candidates who have successfully completed their Residency Training Program and graduate studies and are seeking practical, hands-on experience, mentorship, and career development. The role will work closely with the Senior Director of Pathology, alongside cross-functional team members, to deliver high-quality pathology data that informs target selection, translational strategy, safety assessment, and development decisions. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working in a highly dynamic environment that requires effective collaboration with our early research function, Discovery Science. As a Senior Scientist, you will be expected to be an integral part of the discovery and translational project teams. Using your expertise and strong communication skills, you will guide the preclinical investigative strategy to qualify potential drug targets, help understand drug pharmacologic mechanisms, and connect the basic biology of cell and tissue injury to the pathophysiology of systemic disease. In collaboration with your cross-functional team, you will aid disease model selection and characterization, biomarker discovery, and data interpretation. A key requirement for success in this role is scientific curiosity and desire to grow and adapt to rapidly evolving technology and pipeline priorities.
