About The Position

The Senior R&D Engineer will support development and expansion of transcatheter heart valve replacement technologies within Medtronic’s Structural Heart portfolio. The role focuses on advanced clinical and preclinical imaging analysis, computational and anatomical modeling, and research for Structural Heart therapies. The engineer will work with engineering, clinical, and scientific teams to analyze cardiovascular imaging datasets, develop predictive models, evaluate device-anatomy interactions, and generate evidence supporting product development, preclinical studies, and future therapy advancement. The Structural Heart group develops transcatheter technologies for valvular heart disease and aortic conditions, including valve replacement and repair therapies for aortic, pulmonary, mitral, and tricuspid valve disease. The position is based at the Mounds View, Minnesota facility and requires at least four days per week on-site. It may require up to 10% travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or a technical discipline with at least 4 years of experience, or an advanced degree with at least 2 years of experience.
  • For baccalaureate degrees earned outside the United States, a degree satisfying the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
