About The Position

The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst monitors and/or completes audits of complex activities within an assigned area of the Bank, often focusing on post-approval processes within a lending function. The role helps ensure adherence to internal policies and processes and external regulations, communicates findings to appropriate parties, identifies trends, and recommends and assists in implementing approved solutions. The analyst serves as a subject matter expert and provides guidance and training to less experienced personnel. The position also supports the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, maintains internal control standards, and promotes an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand. The position is located in Getzville, New York. The stated pay range is $26.00–$43.34 per hour; individual compensation depends on the successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience.

Requirements

Associate degree and at least 3 years of work experience in the area supported; alternatively, a combined minimum of 5 years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least 3 years of work experience in the area supported.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with pertinent spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
Detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Monitor and/or complete audits of complex activities within an assigned area of the Bank to assess adherence to internal policies and processes and external regulations.
Identify non-compliance issues and communicate findings to appropriate parties and, when warranted, individual employees to help prevent recurrence.
Maintain records of deficiencies and complete regular reporting on audit activities.
Identify trends in data and recommend and assist with implementing approved policy and process changes.
Maintain current knowledge of the policies, processes, and regulations that affect monitoring and auditing activities.
Identify potential process or procedural improvements, make recommendations, and assist with implementing approved changes.
Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance and training to less experienced personnel.
Adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with its Risk Appetite.
Identify risk-related issues that need escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points and applicable issues raised by external regulators.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
