GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst plans and conducts a wide range of quality control tests and analysis to ensure all application products and services meet organizational standards and end-user requirements. This includes performing test planning, test design and test execution. In addition to QA responsibilities, the Senior Analyst also plays a project or task lead on various initiatives, executes on various administration and support items, and provides various back-up support for managers and Manager, Insurance Systems Operations. Position sits in Des Moines and will work an onsite schedule

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance or other related field of study; plus 5-7 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Insurance Industry experience working with annuity principles and products along with related federal and state laws.
  • Experience working with multiple applications including LifePRO and OPUS.
  • Experience with reporting and tracking defects, testing methodologies, creating SQL queries, running automation test cases.
  • Entry level automated coding experience or other programming languages.

  • Strong command of assigned project/test suite
  • Strong command of AEL's testing techniques and understanding when to apply them
  • Can explain AEL's application architecture, integrations, and test approach to others
  • Able to confidently lead projects of Agile, Waterfall, and Kanban testing methodologies.
  • Exhibits proficiency in two or more specialized testing skillset, such as: Browser and Mobile Compatibility, Device Testing, IVR, Salesforce, FAST, Production Parallel testing

Responsibilities

  • Works as QA project lead on high complexity projects, or several low complexity projects at a time.
  • Segments problems into manageable, releasable chunks.
  • Based upon wide area of knowledge and subject matter expertise, provides significant input into strategic plans for the development group.
  • Analyzes and reviews requirements and technical work products.
  • Defines and manages test plans, strategies, and results.
  • Designs test scenarios and data; executes manual or automated scripts.
  • Validates test results and records and researches defects.
  • Coordinates and plans test.
  • Prioritizes, defines and manages defect reporting and resolution.
  • Mentors other QA personnel, BA’s, and Programmers on effective testing procedures.
  • Utilizes qTest and qTest eXplorer to create tests, execute them and log defects
  • Advocates for quality processes, utilizing testing tooling and test automation.
  • Writes documents for QA team support functions, such as new application and new process testing.
  • Assists/leads with resolution and retesting of production issues.
  • Provides coverage for Leads, Managers and AVP of Insurance Systems Operations as needed.
  • Finds and provides suggestions for resolving conflicting issues in test matrix or automation framework
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
