About The Position

The Contractor shall support the implementation of MDA quality and mission assurance requirements by providing subject matter expertise for the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of risks associated with various aspects of the design, development, manufacturing, fielding and operation of MDA systems. In support of QS the Contractor shall provide the following functions: Provide technical expertise across the program acquisition life cycle in quality, mission assurance and manufacturing to the government for the assigned MDA programs, in this case focused on GM Missile Defense System. Provide technical and data management expertise for quality and mission assurance boards, working groups, and reviews to include (but not limited to) the Parts, Materials, and Processes Control Board (PMPCB), technical and mission reviews, pedigree reviews, first article inspections, and risk working groups. Activities include managing the MDA’s Parts, Materials and Processes (PMP) Program. Collect/track available quality and mission assurance metrics for the assigned program. Report on the status of quality and related mission assurance efforts – weekly and periodically consistent with the battle rhythm – to communicate evolving risks, issues, and best practices associated the program. Prepare draft documents, briefs, presentations, and actions items responses, which may include information papers. Attend Industry Standards meetings. Provide report about changes that have an impact on MDS capabilities/assets and report changes and issues. Assist with and/or prepare status reviews for data management including feedback and implementation effectiveness assessments. Review and analyze metrics reports for, but not limited to, best practices and improvements. Analyze Government requirement documents and supplier hardware technical requirements for compliance and assist with addressing issues. Monitor contractor supplier progress in implementation and execution of developed solutions. Travel periodically, approximately twice per year This position is located at MDA facility in Huntsville, AL with the expectation to work onsite several days per week, moving towards full time on MDA site. Otherwise telework from home is authorized when not required to be onsite

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree with 5 or more years of related experience in quality or mission assurance analyzing missile defense system and/or DOD weapon systems.
  • Experience demonstrating a basic grasp of missile defense system complexity and functionality.
  • Experience communicating complex topics clearly and concisely via both oral and written mediums.
  • Experience collaborating within small teams representing primarily quality and mission assurance professional backgrounds.
  • Experience with supporting and assisting the development and execution of policies and requirements.
