About The Position

EBC is a leader in carrying out major infrastructure projects including bridges, roads, highways, tunnels, marine installations, wind farms, and hydroelectric projects. The company has a reputation for meeting deadlines and budgets and has been involved in large-scale projects such as the Site C hydro-electric power station, the Samuel-De-Champlain Bridge, and the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM). EBC is seeking to add a Senior Project Manager to its Western Canada Team. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling construction sites to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like construction management or engineering
  • Relevant 7+ years’ experience in construction project management
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Master of MS Office and MS Project software
  • Shows initiative and leadership
  • Strong management, negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Read the technical and administrative specifications of the project to be executed
  • Acquire the necessary technical and administrative information from the persons involved during the submission
  • Obtain blueprints and specifications for construction and compare them to bid plans
  • Report changes to professionals and claim costs
  • Mentor and develop junior staff members, providing guidance on project management best practices and career growth
  • Lead projects in uncharted territory, developing innovative solutions when traditional approaches may not be sufficient
  • Obtain licenses and permits as needed for the execution of the work
  • Draft contracts and agreements, negotiate terms and award them to subcontractors
  • Develop the prevention program requested for CNESST and monitor it on site
  • Establish the schedule (dates, main stages of construction, constraints, methodology) and / or the critical path of the project and monitor it weekly
  • Inform the superintendent of the project and discuss with him and the director of the proposed methods
  • Place orders for critical materials, negotiate prices and prepare contract documents, in collaboration with the construction manager, for subcontractors
  • Coordinate and participate in various meetings
  • Establish and maintain a professional and continuous positive rapport with the client
