About The Position

Reporting to the Project Director, the Senior Project Coordinator will be based on an Industrial project site. Ability to work a 14 day on, 7 day off schedule in Western Canada is required.

Requirements

• 5+ or more years of work experience in civil, concrete, or earthworks projects with industrial clients required.
• Highly motivated and able to complete assignments with minimal direct supervision.
• Knowledge of standard health, safety, and environmental requirements and practices in the construction industry.
• Drivers license and able to operate a motor vehicle required.
• Ability to work a 14 day on, 7 day off schedule in Western Canada.
• Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment.
• Effective and efficient problem solving and decision-making skills; thoughtful, proactive and creative.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Undergraduate degree in a Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Construction Engineering considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with major construction projects, including liaison with Owners, Consulting Engineers and Subcontractors.
• Support with the preparation and execution of overall work plan and schedule.
• Review and process shop drawings.
• Coordination of material and equipment needs.
• Prepare weekly productivity and cost tracking.
• Prepare cost estimates for change orders and audit purposes.
• Price site instructions, work orders and change notices.
• Assist with quality assurance and management of client expectations.
• Prepare monthly progress application and expedite payments.
• Provide document turnover to client at completion of project.
• Assist with maintenance of project files and preparation of reports.
• Participate in on-site safety meetings and be a leader of initiatives.
• Provide safety leadership through implementation of the Bird Safety Program and monitoring the safety performance of the project team and subcontractors.
• Foster and maintain positive relations and communication with clients, consultants, architects, and subcontractors.
• Build and manage business relationships.
